Westergate Industrial Development

Morgan Ashurst built nine light industrial units and 10 offices for start up and expanding local businesses.

A major part of this project was sustainability with many environmental features throughout the works. Carbon footprint monitoring was used and resulted in 2.5 acres of forest being planted in Nigeria as ‘pay-back’ for the carbon used in the construction process.

This project on completion achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘excellent’ and was the first to use the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) sustainability checklist.  The South East Renewable Energy in a Commercial Building 2005 Award was also presented to this project.
