New North Community School

As part of a private finance initiative, Morgan Ashurst has been responsible for the design and build of a three-storey primary school in Islington. The school features a nursery, childrens centre and educational facilities which are open to the community during out-of-school hours. 

The school is part of an innovative regeneration scheme that is also providing affordable and private housing close to the school. Most of the funding for New North Community School has come from income generated from the private housing development.

The construction used sustainable materials including recycled roofing, bricks and aluminium with all the timber sourced from managed forests. No PVC or MDF was used during the construction process.
